Mike Verstrat
Mike joined the Elexicon group in March of 2004 and has nine years of experience
in marketing and communications. His design and pre-press capabilities range from
sheet-fed and web press print production to corporate identity development, traditional
and digital illustration, and information architecture.
Before joining Elexicon, Mike worked in the marketing and communications department
at X-Rite inc., a leading global provider of color management solutions. As a graphic
designer at X-Rite, Mike participated in the development and promotion of a corporate
identity redesign and numerous marketing and communication projects utilizing a
variety of media including traditional print, web design, web-based animation, advertising
specialty products, electronic pdf forms, and digital illustration. Mike also has
several years of experience at Spinnaker, a document management firm. At Spinnaker,
Mike was responsible for the design and development of traditional documents, packaging
and labeling solutions, and intranet-based document management systems for manufacturing,
retail, and health care markets.
Mike holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Grand Valley State University, a NASAD accredited
art and design program where he also worked as a writer for the university’s newspaper.
He is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Artists and maintains a photography,
drawing, and illustration portfolio. He enjoys family time with his wife, two sons,
and new baby girl, and attempts to play basketball often—despite having a vertical
leap more appropriately measured in pixels than inches.
